During last year's journey with the series I Am Rahab: A Novel, many fans asked if I would consider making it into an audiobook. The idea wasn't uncommon. In writing the manuscript, I envisioned the characters coming to life. I played around with the idea of movie scripts and screenplays. Creating an audiobook seemed like a great place to start. I found out about ACX in November of last year. ACX puts you in the driver's seat! It's a marketplace where authors, literary agents, publishers, and other Rights Holders can connect with narrators, engineers, recording studios, and other Producers capable of bringing forth a finished audiobook.
Using the platform, I was able to audition many narrators/producers until I found the perfect voice. Working with Quintell and Michea Allen of Ghostreaders Inc. was an exciting and unforgettable experience. As they sent over demos, I actually smiled like a proud parent listening to my characters come to life. ACX made the process relatively simple. It was just a matter of me supplying the manuscript, relaying my vision, and then approving the work that the producers submitted. It was that easy.
The journey of I Am Rahab continues. I can't wait to see where we find ourselves next. -JC Miller
